Our Story
In 2012, a team of researchers at the Technion were working to improve water electrolysis.
They asked a simple but radical question: what if hydrogen and oxygen could be produced at different times, rather than separated by a fragile membrane? That Eureka moment sparked the invention of what would become Decoupled Water Electrolysis (DWE).
At the same time, serial entrepreneur Talmon Marco and his team, best known for founding Viber, Juno and iMesh, were seeking a way to channel their success into tackling climate change. When Talmon met the Technion researchers, vision and science clicked.
In 2019, they co-founded H2Pro to transform that scientific breakthrough into a scalable, commercial technology and accelerate the clean energy transition.
H2Pro has since grown to over 100 employees and raised funding from leading investors and strategic partners, including majority shareholder Bill Gates’ climate fund Breakthrough Energy Ventures.
Building on strong global collaborations and MOUs with key energy and industrial partners, H2Pro is now scaling and commercializing our technology. The clean energy economy depends on it.
